The renovation of this apartment building in the city of Lausanne had to change design a couple of times due to height restriction. The Geneva Lake being straight in front of the facade, the extension of the building has been designed like a boat on top of the existing building, sailing to the Leman Lake close by. The big challenges were essentially installing 14 meters long wood blocking on the roof, as well as a 8 meters cantilevered facade, holding the charges of 3 studios and 2 levels of a duplex.
